Traffic patterns start to show up when vacuuming and carpet cleaning have been neglected.
It’s just as important to regularly vacuum carpet as it is to have it professionally cleaned. If you look at magnified soil particles you will see that they have sharp cutting edges. This is what eventually causes the worn out traffic areas. Every time you walk across the carpet you’re grinding the soil against the fibers and slowly cutting and scratching them. When you vacuum frequently you lessen the deterioration of your carpet by removing those particles. Obviously when you remove the dry soil it won’t build up and cleaning is more effective.
Most of us want our carpets to stay clean and beautiful for as long as possible and it is within reach when you maintain it’s cleanliness. Don’t wait until the soil begins to show up. You want to set up scheduled carpet cleaning in regular intervals and not wait for your visual confirmation of how dingy it appears. The manufacturer’s recommend to clean it once a year to every 18 months to maintain the warranty. But a lot of people need and should to do it more often in order to always keep it looking nice.
After you have your carpets cleaned, having protector applied will give that added barrier of protection that has been proven to prolong the life and beauty of your carpet. The soil will scratch against the protector and not the fiber. It will usually last about a year or more in the average home. Carpet protector will not clean off of the carpet it wears off. You can have your carpet cleaned multiple times with out it coming off after we clean it. Now I can’t say the same about other cleaning outfits. Many of them use products that are too strong for residential carpet and can actually cause harm in the long term.
